Retrofit

Our Retrofit Ambition: We want to retrofit 30% of all air handling units currently running with belt-driven fans.

 

Retrofitting old HVAC units with modern, energy-efficient technologies can dramatically reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.

  • By retrofitting controllers and heat recovery systems, the benefits increase significantly, potentially reducing the payback time by up to 70%.
  • Retrofitting ensures resource efficiency by maximising the use of existing resources and reducing the need for new raw materials. This approach supports the principles of a circular economy, which focuses on keeping products, components, and materials at their highest utility and value for as long as possible.
  • It also helps reduce waste. Less waste is generated when a system is retrofitted compared to discarding it and installing a new one, which lowers the environmental impact of disposal and landfill use.
  • Additionally, disposing of old systems can be expensive due to logistics, labour, and environmental fees. Retrofitting mitigates these costs by reusing most of the existing system. We want to retrofit 30% of all air handling units currently running with belt-driven fans.
